Never Underestimate the Power of Attire

Children across the United States return to school today following the conclusion of summer break. For many, returning to school was preceded by the ritual of shopping for school clothes. Parents understand that appearance can have an important impact on their children’s educational experience. Whether your child wishes to dress like their classmates, or wants to stand out from the crowd, remember, how we dress can have a big impact on how we feel and act.

“Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society”. – Mark Twain

Attire can influence our attitude in both positive and negative ways. This is why we love to dress comfortably when we feel sick, and we wear our best suits for important meetings. But we forget that our clothing can influence how we feel every other day.

If you are feeling a little down, try wearing something that makes you feel good. Take a minute and select an outfit that you know will brighten your day. People naturally feel better when they wear brighter clothing, or an outfit that will garner compliments. This can be great for a little “pick me up” at work or when out with friends. By feeling good about your appearance, you will walk a little taller and even smile more. Self-confidence is just that, confidence in yourself. When you dress confidently, you will feel confidently.

Following an enjoyable weekend, motivation can be lacking Monday mornings. If you are feeling a little less than motivated, choose an outfit that will make you comfortable and feeling good all day long.

What outfit do you wear when you want to feel good?

This was especially true during the high school days. If you didn’t wear a pair of $100 Nike Air Jordan’s you got no love!!!
